(8)05. Accident Reporting Property Damage

1. The driver of a motor vehicle who is in any matter involved in an accident originating from the operation of the motor vehicle that has resulted in damage to the property of any one person in excess of $1,000 shall report the accident to law enforcement as soon as possible.

Violations of Penal Code (8)05 is a misdemeanor punishable by a $1,000 fine.
